Milky Way
The Milky Way as seen from our back deck on an October night. My friend Gale and I were both inspired by a lecture on astrophotography sponsored by the Maine Professional Photographer’s Association (thanks, Gale, for the invitation!). I used PhotoPills to predict exactly where and when to find the Milky Way. Still lots to learn and I’m looking forward to many more opportunities to photograph the night sky in Maine.

At a fork in the Pemetic Northwest trail in Acadia National Park, there’s an option to go left through a ravine or right over a ledge. The ravine option has a few wooden ladders and lots of cedar roots.
