A Hike on Mt. Phillip

Mount Phillip in Maine’s Belgrade Lakes region is less than a half hour from home and is a great place for a short hike, with views of Great Pond, the setting for the movie “On Golden Pond.”

Katahdin from Hurd Pond

Huge granite boulders surround much of the shoreline of Hurd Pond in the Debsconeag Wilderness. Mount Katahdin dominates the landscape in the region. I made this shot from my kayak.
