Angel Falls
Angel Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in Maine. The hike to the falls is just over a mile, with a few crossings of Mountain Brook. Finding the trail head might be the hardest part. On my first trip there years ago, the parking area was marked with an old t-shirt and you had to walk down a short dirt road to find the trail. Maine staying wild or what?

Tumbledown Mountain in Weld, Maine is a rare gem. Not only does it have a variety of trails, but it has a pond.
Step Falls
Step Falls, just south of Grafton Notch in Newry, Maine, is a series of waterfalls on Wight Brook. This year’s low rainfall reduced the flow over the falls, making more of the moss visible than I’ve ever seen. A rain shower an hour or so before provided the final touch: more saturated color of the moss and fall foliage.
