Looking forward to spring and kayaking again!

A sunset at one of our town parks. This is one of the very first photographs I made with a digital SLR back in 2003.

A summer storm approaches the Acadia coast. The Schoodic Peninsula is in the distance.
Check out my Blurb book, Acadia: Gem of the Maine Coast, a short compilation of photographs from Acadia between May and December this year.

A young pine casts a shadow on the snow. Spring officially starts this month in Maine! At least that’s what the calendar says.

Fallen leaves in a stream in the Kennebec Highlands caught in the current and spinning in circles. Kind of like our government.

I’ve got a display of eight of my framed prints along with a large number of 5×7 prints matted (8×10) and ready to frame. I’m donating 10% of any sales to the Waterville Area Humane Society. If you’re in the downtown Waterville area, stop by Selah Tea at 177 Main Street for great coffee and tea, great music, and a cozy environment staffed by some really friendly people! Prints will be there through the end of March.

A foggy day on the Maine coast from the high cliffs at Quoddy Head State Park.

As we get well beyond peak fall color, the forest floor turns to shades of brown and grey.

The Milky Way as seen from our back deck on an October night. My friend Gale and I were both inspired by a lecture on astrophotography sponsored by the Maine Professional Photographer’s Association (thanks, Gale, for the invitation!). I used PhotoPills to predict exactly where and when to find the Milky Way. Still lots to learn and I’m looking forward to many more opportunities to photograph the night sky in Maine.
