Thin Ice and Clouds

Walking along the shoreline of McGrath Pond in my home town of Oakland, I was struck by this arrangement of high and low clouds and the reflections on the thin ice and water surface. It lasted for only a brief moment; the three clouds in the upper left of the image dispersed quickly.
Lower South Branch Pond

Lower South Branch Pond in northern Baxter State Park is surrounded by the Traveler range in the east and South Branch Mountain in the west. Summer rain showers and the late day sun through the clouds produced this rainbow over the Traveler range.
