Mount OJI reflects the pink light of sunset, as viewed from a kayak on Kidney Pond. I hiked to the summit a couple years ago. On this trip I hiked to the West Peak viewpoint to admire the fall foliage below. The first part of the trail traverses numerous very wet areas. My boots sank into the mud more than once, but the view made it all worth it!

I camped at Kidney Pond in Baxter. I took one of the Park kayaks out just before sunset and saw this loon.

The Jordan Cliffs trail in Acadia provides great views of Jordan Pond directly below and Pemetic Mountain on the eastern side of the pond.

Walking along the shoreline of McGrath Pond in my home town of Oakland, I was struck by this arrangement of high and low clouds and the reflections on the thin ice and water surface. It lasted for only a brief moment; the three clouds in the upper left of the image dispersed quickly.

Lower South Branch Pond in northern Baxter State Park is surrounded by the Traveler range in the east and South Branch Mountain in the west. Summer rain showers and the late day sun through the clouds produced this rainbow over the Traveler range.
